FMLS sets the standard for modern rental workflows

FMLS, one of the nation's top 5 MLSs, was the first to adopt RentSpree’s full rental management system, RentEdge. Rentals have become a critical component of the housing economy, providing essential housing choices for consumers and reliable income opportunities for agents and brokers at a time when the for-sale market remains gridlocked in many parts of the U.S.

In November 2025, FMLS took a significant leap forward by being the first MLS to launch all six RentEdge modules, embedding rentals into members’ daily workflows and setting a new standard for MLS rental strategy.

The journey

FMLS has been a RentSpree partner since October 2021, recognizing early that rentals were growing into a major business opportunity. Since then, the number of rentals entered into the FMLS system has jumped more than three times as of November 2025, and tenant screening volume climbed fourfold during the same timeframe.

FMLS CEO Jeremy Crawford says his organization has long viewed rentals as foundational:
“Rentals are no longer a side category for agents or a temporary stopgap for consumers. They are a vital part of the real estate landscape, and we feel a responsibility to give our agents and brokers the most reliable and effective rental tools available.”

Bold decisions producing real results

Since launching the full RentEdge suite, FMLS has seen a clear acceleration in member engagement. Early indicators include strong activation across modules and rising usage across the system. FMLS has already recorded a 60 percent year-over-year jump in tenant screening reports during the first two weeks of deployment (Nov. 1-17) compared with the same period last year. For context, the entire month of October saw a 30 percent year-over-year increase. The surge in November is especially notable because the holiday season typically brings slower rental activity.

Across RentEdge touchpoints, member visibility is also surging. Impressions for the Screening widget and Insights widget totaledl about 450,000 in two weeks.

A seamless integration and a vision for the future

The RentEdge rollout at FMLS was completed in approximately two months, with no disruption.
