RentSpree has reached a thrilling new milestone of five million users, marking a pivotal moment in our company’s growth and offering a point of reflection on a dynamic, always-changing rental industry. The fact is, rental demand is growing across the country and shows little signs of slowing, and we’re meeting that demand with the essential tools landlords, agents, and renters need to navigate that growth.

Market data reinforces this momentum. Renters now account for four out of five new household formations in 2025, according to Arbor and Chandan Economics, and the NAR 2026 Member Profile shows 2026 at the slowest pace since 1995 for home sales. These structural shifts are making rental infrastructure essential, as savvy agents are learning that rentals aren’t just a side business, but a stable income source on their own and a pathway toward long-term buyer relationships. Rental transactions snowball into many buy, sell, and lease transactions over time, because landlords and investors buy, sell, and lease far more frequently than typical homeowner clients. From CRMLS (the nation's largest MLS) to regional leaders like NTREIS, FMLS, realMLS, and more, agents everywhere can now manage rentals with the same professionalism and speed as sales.

But beyond the MLS, RentSpree has also expanded via technology partnership to address the full rental lifecycle. Unit provides interest-generating landlord banking integrated directly with the RentSpree platform, and TurboTax has streamlined tax prep for both agents and landlords. Obie provides landlord insurance, and Lula helps landlords handle maintenance requests and tenant inquiries through Rental Assistant’s intelligent automation. None of these business relationships are perfunctory or for show. They’re the infrastructure that can turn rentals into a real, sustainable business for five million users.

On September 15, RentSpree launched Rental Assistant, our solution to the volatility of owning a rental. Tenant questions and maintenance calls never wait for a convenient time.
