MALIBU, CALIFORNIA – RentSpree, the real estate tech startup that has streamlined the rental process, announced that it took first prize at the BLD Brands Business Model Competition hosted at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California on April 13.
The event's prize money totaled $15,000, with $8,000 going to RentSpree for first place. Co-founder and COO Michael Lucarelli presented on behalf of RentSpree in front of a panel of four judges, consisting of Kyle Murphy, Mike Sims, Sonya Sepahban, and Kamran Razavi.
Twenty-two companies participated in the competition, which consisted of two rounds. The first round featured a three-minute pitch followed by a one-minute Q&A session, while the final round featured a three-minute pitch with a two-minute Q&A session. The judges chose the top six companies from the first round to advance to the final round.
“We are very honored and excited to receive this prestigious award," Michael Lucarelli, co-founder and COO of RentSpree, said. "We thank Pepperdine University and their sponsors for the opportunity to present what we think is an effective technology solution to a slow changing segment of the huge real estate rental marketplace.”
RentSpree has created a cutting edge tool that allows renters to easily apply to rental properties. The award-winning tool automates the time intensive process of applying for multiple properties and greatly reduces friction for REALTORS who need to screen applicants.
